Bye bye Bad Cartoonist. Bye bye

Just noticed badcartoonist.com’s domain is expired. If I understand domain registration lapses, Bad Cartoonist has 60 or 90 days to renew it after it expires, otherwise it goes back into the pool of available domains. Since it lapsed on January 30, S/he has but a couple of weeks to reclaim it.

Since the domain has not been renewed, it appears BC is going to slink back into the shadows for good. Adios BC. Thanks for a bit of intrigue, but how I wish you had a spine to reveal yourself rather than hide behind.

  4. As I’ve said before, I have no interest whatsoever in finding out who it was. What’s life without a little mystery.

  5. Wait, BC was still updating the site? I’ve completely forgotten that it even existed.

  6. I check the site every few months to see if anything new has been posted. It was a flash in the pan really. BC only posted for a short time, and then stopped completely.

  8. I never wanted to know who it was, but I enjoyed the reads. In addition to being just so mean, he was pretty honest and his writing was clever and funny.
    We all know whoever it is and we would feel embarrassment for him if he was ever exposed. That’s probably why he stopped.
    I know it gives more credibility to have your name next to your criticism, but it also gave him a lot of freedom.

    Now for editorial cartoon criticism I enjoy the snarky Wonkette each Friday written by the Comics Curmudgeon. I also enjoy Matt Bors’ blog who beats up on cartoonists every now and then.

  14. I couldn’t pull it off. I think my writing style would show through and maybe that’s why the Bad Cartoonist stopped.

    I wouldn’t think it’s Ted because I don’t think Ted would invest that much time into it. Plus, it started during his AAEC presidency and I don’t think he’d do something that unethical period, but especially not during his term.

    We know it’s not Matt. Matt will criticize anyone.

  18. Mean People Who Draw would be an excellent title for a single panel gag comic.
