Watercolor secrets from Richard Thompson
There are a few cartoonists who are real masters of the watercolor medium – Richard Thompson, creator of Cul de Sac and Richard’s Poor Almanac is one of them. He recently posted a piece on his blog detailing his watercoloring process.
The only thing better would be for him to get a webcam and do a live/recorded session of him working his magic. I’d pay for that like it was a porn peep show.

Wow, in a time when most illustration is going digital, it’s great to see how color is supposed to be done.

Alan, do you PAY for porn peep shows? You know they’re free on the internet. Or, at least that’s what Scott Nickel told me.

For the record – I’ve never paid for porn or seen a peep show. Probably not a phrase I should have used above.

Glad to see artist doing work the old ways, Adrian Reaside the creator of The Other Coast has produced numerous sunday comics over the 11 years that I have known and worked with in water colors. Great to hear others doing it!
