Ex-New York Post editor sues paper
Sandra Guzman, who was fired from her editing job at the New York Post for being critical of the paper after it ran Sean Delonas’ dead chimpanzee cartoon has filed a lawsuit against the paper. The suit filed in U.S. District Court in Manhattan alleges the she was “subjected to a hostile work environment in which women and minority employees were continually subjected to discrimination and hostility.” She also maintains that after she criticized the printing of the cartoon she received an unfair performance evaluation after years of positive evaluations.
The Post said in a statement, “this lawsuit has no merit and is based on charges that are groundless,” and reiterated a previous statement that Guzman’s position had been eliminated when the section she edited was discontinued due to a decline in advertising sales.
