The Stars of political cartooning
All month, Comic Book Resources has been posting profiles and samples of artwork from notable political cartoonists through American history. Due to a change in my work schedule, I’ve fallen behind in posting links to these artists. So here they are:
- ROLLIN KIRBY
- JAMES GILLRAY
- EDMUND DUFFY
- JAY NORWOOD “DING” DARLING
- GEORGE CRUIKSHANK
- PHILIP ZEC
- JOHN TENNIEL
- JOSEPH KEPPLER
- DOUG MARLETTE

This is GREAT, Alan! Many thanks. I love the early works, and the undeservedly obscure.
Are there others in this series? I can’t imagine Nast, Herblock, Mauldin, Oliphant, MacNelly would be second tier.
Course, some of my faves: Boardman Robinson, Robert Minor, Art Young, and even David Low are often overlooked.
( PS: this is a wonderful resource )
