I believe Lynn Johnston’s new run model works well w/ the spirit of our times. I mean, we’re all about the prequel/origin story arcs these days anyway — it gives old readers a sense of nostalgia and new readers an entryway into the complex world that is FBorFW.
I, for one, have actually been enjoying the new version of the strip — I especially like how clean and economical her ‘old style’ looks now. It definitely breathes new (old) life into the franchise. It was a good move on her part!
