Rob Rogers is cartooning from the DNC (UPDATED)
For those who follow politics like sports (blood sports, nowadays), today marks the first day of the Democratic National Convention in Denver, CO. Attending in person to cover the event is Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Rob Rogers. He’s posting his cartoons and musings on his new blog.
Last week I reported that Drew Litton, the sports cartoonist at the Rocky Mountain News was posting political animations for each day of the convention. Check them out over on his site.
I know other cartoonists are in Colorado this week. I’ll track them down and let you all know what’s going on.
UPDATE: Reports are trickling in. KAL is already in Denver and as is Michael Ramirez. Other cartoonists who will be attending include: Scott Stantis, Dan Perkins and Stephanie McMillan. Of course Ed Stein, Mike Keefe and Drew Litton are all locals, so I’m sure they’re going to be busy as well.
One specific detail: ABC World news has asked Mike Keefe to crate a “cartoon introduction to Denver for the DNC this week” that will air tonight or tomorrow during the news broadcast with Charlie Gibson. You can see some of his animated “Talking Heads” on his web site. Here’s a sample:
