Secret Asian Man in two exhibits
The artwork of Tak Toyoshima, creator of Secret Asian Man, will be featured in two upcoming exhibits. Beginning Aug. 15 and running through Sept. 14, Tak’s work will be featured in the Napa Valley Museum for their “Manga & Anime: An Exhibition of Popular Cartoon Art” exhibit. Also featured in this exhibit is Deb Aoki of Bento Box.
Then starting on Oct. 24 through January 4, 2009, Krannert Art Museum at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign presents an amazing exhibit entitled “Out of Sequence: Underrepresented Voices in American Comics.” In addition to Tak’s work, it will also feature: Gus Arriola, Kyle Baker, Alison Bechdel, Ray Billingsley, Nicholas Gurewitch, Oliver Harrington, Keith Knight, Scott McCloud, Dale Messick, Eric Millikin, Brian Moore, Jackie Ormes, Mikhaela Reid, Ann Telnaes, Hilda Terry and Masheka Wood.
