DC Comics creates The Spirit collection
DC Comics will publish a reprinting of the 12-year run of The Spirit that ran as an newspaper supplement between 1940 and 1952. The 24 volume collection is the result of an eight year effort. The book is due out as early as September.

If DC is going to go to this much trouble to reproduce something that’s been in newspapers, I’d rather them give me a volume of the complete Batman and Robin strip that ran in the late 1960s. And once they’re done with that, they can start new Superman strip volumes that take up where Kitchen Sink (and Sterling, in the reprints) left off a few years ago. And then maybe get to that World’s Greatest Super-Heroes reprint.
