Toonfest to feature Coverly, Eliot, Evans, Scott
This year’s grand marshals and featured guests at the 10th Annual Walt Disney’s Hometown Toonfest will include Dave Coverly (Speed Bump), Jan Eliot (Stone Soup), Greg Evans (Luann), and Jerry Scott (co-creator of Zits and Baby Blues).
The event runs September 19-20 in Marceline, Mo, the birth place of Walt Disney. The four cartoonists will discuss and show their work in addition to the parade honor.

I know Greg Evans personally. He has always been kind, receptive, and freindly towards me, and to any questions I’ve asked him. So congratulations to Greg, and the other cartoonists who will be featured. Sounds like fun, sorry I won’t be able to be there & see the celebration.

If you have never attended the Disney Toonfest, you’re really missing a good time. Events are all free to the public, and when the Toonfest folks find out you’re a visiting cartoonist, they treat you like royalty. There’s even a couple of REALLY good parties you’ll get invited to where you can schmooze with you fellow cartoonists, the Toonfest featured speakers, and the nice people who put on the event.
I attended my first Toonfest about 7 or 8 years ago, and got hooked. Now it’s on my calendar for every September. Marceline, MO is a charming small town, and while the Toonfest is strictly a small-town affair, you can’t help but fall in love with the place.
Hope to see you there!
