Simpsons deemed inappropriate in Venezuela
“The Simpsons” were taken off the air in Venezuela because of several complaints by viewers that it was inappropriate for children. The station replaced Matt Groening’s show with Baywatch Hawaii and hasn’t fielded any more complaints.
“It had to be taken off,” Televen TV station spokeswoman Elba Guillen said. “They consider it to be a series that isn’t appropriate for that time because it isn’t appropriate for children.”
Apparently there is concern that The Simpsons could violate “national regulations prohibiting “messages that go against the whole education of boys, girls and adolescents.”

The Simpsons is pretty tame compared to Family Guy.

Wish broadcasters had the guts to take The Simpsons, Family Guy, and King of the Hill off in the US. Everyone prefers to pander. Groenig himself once said after he became a parent, he understood why parents complained about it and “apologized.” Too bad he didn’t put any action behind those words.

Sorry, that’s just silly. And despite Groenig’s apology, he’s not responsible for what kids watch. Their parents are.
I’m sure you could defect to Venezuela. Gas is cheap and they only run nice stories in the newspapers.

The Simpsons is not a kids show, it’s for adults. Yes, there is a Simpsons cartoon strip for kids, and a Simpsons comic which is aimed at the kids market, but the TV show is adult entertainment just as Seinfeld was.
If certain parents haven’t realised that they must be extremely dumb.

The only thing Groening should apologize for is how The Simpsons stopped being funny several seasons ago. Family Guy which is the far better humorous choice these days clearly warns parental guidence for anyone under 14.
