Doug Marlette Featured In Museum, Reading program
The life and work of the late Doug Marlette will be the focus of two community events this spring in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Hickory Museum of Art has an exhibit of the late Doug Marlette’s work that opened in March runs through September 14th and “The Big Read” - a community reading program will feature Doug’s novel “The Bridge.”
If you’re in the area, plan on attending Gallery Talk on April 17. Dr. Tom Hanchett, historian at Levine Museum of the New South in Charlotte, will be speaking on the topic of “Comic Stripped: A Revealing Look at Southern Stereotypes in Cartoons” where he will discuss Doug’s Kudzu strip.
