Gordon Campbell loses Inland Valley Daily Bulletin
Gordon Campbell, who has been doing editorial cartoons for the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin for the last 16 years, was let go last week. He was their “permanent stringer” for many years before becoming a staff cartoonist in 2003.
In an e-mail posted over on the AAEC web site, Gordon writes,
“It was not unexpected but it was none-the-less painful. Today, after 16 years of ink-stained bliss my paper divorced me! And just as the election year was getting interesting!”

I’m very sorry to hear this, but I suppose it’s yet another sign of the times. I agree with Gordon’s comments though, this election year has been very interesting indeed and most editorial cartoonists should be awash in great content for their cartoons. It’s just a shame that the papers can’t seem to keep staff cartoonists on these days.
