La Cucaracha celebrates 5 years
Lalo Alcaraz’s Cucaracha hit the 5 year mark last month and appears in 60 newspapers nationwide. Lalo has drawn editorial cartoons for the LA Weekly since 1992 and also draws English and Spish editorial cartoons for Universal Press. If that didn’t keep him busy, he’s also co-editor of the satirical magazine Pocho, a co-founder to a comedy troupe called “Chicano Secret Service,” an illustrator, and a partner in a screenwriting team dedicated to increasing Latino representation in the mass media.
