Tak Toyoshima to speak at Asian Fest
Secret Asian Man creator Tak Toyoshima will be the featured speaker at the Asian Festival on the campus of Baylor University (Waco, TX) tomorrow night. He will be speaking on the topic of “Asian Americans in the Mainstream.” Tickets are required for the banquet (where Tak will speak). Check the above link for details.

Tak, enjoy that! Sounds interesting and challenging. You might appreciate some Grady Nutt sound bites (on my web site’s Grady Nutt page) for some good ol’ Southern Baptist Texas humor. Not sure how culturally relevant it is today, but he’s a hoot and within his humor you might get a good glimpse into the by-gone era.

Thanks for the tip Rich. Funny stuff. Just finished with that talk. Great people (I guess why wouldn’t they be?). The only thing that threw me off was the prayer at the beginning. Never did that before a lecture before.

That is a bit different, but I guess they are still a good Baptist school. I’m sure I’ve had folks praying for one of mine to end … but I hadn’t thought about one at the beginning! ;)
