Last minute changes of speakers for Festival of Cartoon Art
Over on Mike Rhode’s ComicsDC blog, he’s passing on information that this year’s Festival of Carton Art has added Paul Pope, Arnold Roth, and David Saylor to the line-up of speakers to replace Jules Feiffer, Guy Delisle and Mark Siegel who have cancelled their appearance. Paul has worked in alternative comics, manga, comic books and graphic design; Arnold is freelance cartoonist/illustrator who’s work has appeared in just about every major magazine; and David is Vice President and Creative Director at Scholastic Books (he designed the Harry Potter book covers for the US editions).
The Festival is scheduled for October 25-27 and comes around every three years. I’ve been told that it rivals (and in some ways surpasses) the annual National Cartoonist Society’s Reubens weekend. Register soon. Space is limited. See their web site for details.
