Students Gather to Protest Comic, Demand Editor Be Fired
In continuation of an earlier story I reported on a couple of weeks ago regarding a controversial cartoon depicting a hispanic girl imprisoned in a closet forced to drink urine. Over a 100 students gathered outside the paper’s offices last Tuesday to protest the comic and demand that the editor be fired. Because the paper is not under the university’s control, the university has said that they have no recourse to force a resignation and the managing editor of the paper, Mark Rowan has said he has no intention of stepping down.
