Anne Gibbons replaces Carla Ventresca as Thursday Six Chix
King Features has announced that Anne Gibbons, a well known cartoonist in magazine gag cartooning and greeting cards, has replaced Carla Ventresca as the Thursday Six Chix. According to the King press release Carla has moved on to “pursue other interests” (she and her husband, Henry Beckett, launched a new feature called On a Claire Day in the Spring of ‘06).
From the press release:
Brendan Burford, comics editor at King Features Syndicate, states, “Anne’s work has great universal appeal and an authentic voice. Her cartoons complement the SIX CHIX package nicely. We are very happy to have her onboard.” Six Chix is distributed to more than 60 newspapers, including the Arizona Republic, Detroit News, Houston Chronicle, San Diego Union-Tribune, San Francisco Chronicle and Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

Generally, the Six Chix cartoons, have to be the most inane and infantile of ALL publications. It probably does not insult the intelligence of the average 6 year old!
Absolute rubbish!
