Cartoon Festival to benefit non-profit groups
Guy Gilchrist is throwing a Cartoon Festival and silent auction to benefit two non-profit organizations this next week. On Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. is an open house at his Cartoonist’s Academy that will include tours, drawing lessons, games and free food. Then on Tuesday July 24th from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. is the cartoon festival and auction. Attending the event that night include Frank McLaughlin (Gil Thorpe), Frank Bolle (Apartment 3-G), Mike Valentine (Flintstones), and George Wildman (Popeye) who will be on hand to draw caricatures, sign prints and to talk shop.
The two non-profit groups are TAPS - a support network for widows and orphans of Armed Forces service members, and the CT Children’s Medical Center.
Tickets are required for the Tuesday event. See Guy’s web site for more details.
