Retail book contains more than comics
Norm Feuti’s Retail will have a book coming out this October, which will be more than a comics collection, according to E&P.
Feuti, who rose from salesperson to store manager during more than 15 years in the retail industry, structured “Pretending You Care” as a handbook for new retail employees. The Hyperion-published paperback — mostly text but with plenty of comics — is also aimed at shoppers.

LOL, I like the title. I worked in retail “Pretending I Cared” for 5+ years and was on the management track… then I got a better job sitting on my butt in an office (no, seriously, I get to play with a computer all day, so it’s good.) I went from Retail to Dilbert.
Great work on the strip, Norm, some of them hit a so close to home it’s scary. And good luck with the book, I’ll have to check it out.

Norm!
Congrats sir! I was just about to e-mail you after reading this, but hey…you’re here and I’m lazy. ;)
Seriously though…awesome news, sir! I will be pre-ordering this book on Amazon.
Keep up the good work on ‘Retail’. Cooper is one of the best characters out there.

p.s. While we’re confessing, I, too, worked in retail — and (gulp) fast food!

Thanks, Scott!
Thanks, everyone! The book was a lot of fun to write and I have high hopes for it.

I imagine most people (especially cartoonists) have worked in retail at some point in their lives. I lucked out and worked in a toy shop, but I can still relate to a lot of these strips. Great work and congrats on the book.

Terri,
Pajama Diaries is one of the hidden gems of the syndicated comics. I hope your toon is doing well enough to keep you creating it!
