Howie Schneider passes away at age 77
From United Media comes word that Howie Schneider, creator of Eek and Meek and The Sunshine Club has passed away at the age of 77 after complications due to heart surgery.
Howie was also a magazine cartoonist, children’s book author and sculptor who served 20 years on the Newspaper Features Council and eight years on the board of the National Cartoonist Society.
He is survived by hsi wife, two sons and a grand daughter.

Schneider also created “The Circus of P.T. Bimbo” (retitled “Bimbo’s Circus” after complaints from the estate of P.T. Barnum) from mid to late 1970s.

I must ask the inevitable…
Will “The Sunshine Club” be continued after Schneider’s death?
Regardless of the answer, the family has my condolences.
