Getting to know Charles Schulz through Peanuts
The Charles M. Schulz museum is planning an exhibit called His Life in Peanuts that will explore how autobiographical Peanuts is to Charles. The exhibit will include over 70 pieces that include childhood memories, friendships, medical issues, his life with five children seen through his comics strip. The exhibit is slated to run September 19, 2007 through January 14, 2007.
Also slate at the museum is an exhibit on the non-verbal language of comics - the stars in eyes, the birds circling a dazed character. This exhibit will explore the visual shorthand of comic art—symbols—and their meanings using Peanuts strips. Look for this exhibit next year in February.
