Harvey Award nominees announced
The 2007 Harvey Award Nominees have been announced and several newspaper cartoonists are among the nominees. Bizarro creator, Dan Piraro, is up for two awards: Best Cartoonist and a Special Award for Humor in comics. Competing in the category of Best Syndicated Strip or Panel includes Doonesbury by Garry Trudeau, Mutts by Patrick McDonnell, The K Chronicles by Keith Knight, Maakies by Tony Millionaire and Antiques: The Comic Strip by J.C. Vaughn, Brendan Fraim & Brian Fraim
Also of note, Brian Fies who created Mom’s Cancer is up for three awards: Best Artist, Best Cover Artist and Best Single Issue or Story.
The voting ends August 3rd and the final results will be announced at this year’s Baltimore Comic-Con that runs September 8 and 9th.
