El Nuevo Herald cartoonist gets 2 years probation
Jose Varela, the freelance editorial cartoonist for the El Nuevo Herald, who stormed The Miami Herald offices last November has pleaded no contest to assault and burglary charges in return for a sentence of two years probation. He was also ordered to take anger control classes, continued psychiatric counseling and make a $500 donation to the victim’s assistance fund.
Not a bad deal. I don’t know who is attorney is, but I want the name in case I ever go on a rampage with a toy gun.
