Another freelance editorial cartoonist loses gig
In a cost-saving move, the Trentonian has suspended its use of freelance editorial cartoonist Rick Cole who was informed that this two-cartoon-a-week contract was being broken. He’s been a contributor to the paper since 2002.
In an e-mail that was published on the AAEC web site, he writes, “Freelancing editorial cartoons is certainly something you don’t do for the money — I miss the creative outlet it provided and I hope to find another freelance gig soon.”

This is damn shame.
Editorial cartooning has such a rich history, it’s truly a shame to see this occur.
