Foxtrot going out swinging
It looks like Bill Amend is using his last week of the daily version of FoxTrot to make a few statements of cartooning. Yesterday he poked fun at why a cartoonist would want to do fewer cartoons (punchline: “Whoa! Some guy in World of Warquest went from level 1 to 60 in two days!”).
Today he takes a swipe at legacy features who employ ghost writers and artists to carry on the strip. In the last panel he swaps out his characters Roger and Andy with Leroy and Loretta Lockhorn from Bunny Hoest and John Reiner’s feature The Lockhorns as a joke that perhaps if he hired ghost talent, perhaps no-one would notice.
Three more days, (sigh). I’m going to miss this feature.
