Jeff Millar and Bill Hinds win award for visual journalism
Tank McNamara creators Jeff Millar (writer) and Bill Hinds (artist) will be awarded a special recognition for visual journalism by The Center for the Study of Sport in Society at Northeastern University and the Northeastern University School of Journalism on December 4th.
“American sport has never had a social observer quite like Tank McNamara,” says Brylee Maxfield, Communications Manager, Center for the Study of Sport in Society. “Millar and Hinds write in the proud tradition of Finley Peter Dunne, H.L. Mencken, Will Rogers and Art Buchwald—their devastating wit cannot obscure the penetrating social commentary on sport’s most important issues. For more than 30 years there’s been no issue that’s eluded their attention.”
