Not everybody wants to be in a comic strip

A couple of times this year, cartoonists have placed a real person inside their comic (see story about Baldo and Gil Thorp).  But not everyone is keen on showing up in the funnies. Starting Wednesday and continuing through today, “The Amazing Spider-Man” has featured Judge Maria Lopez a TV judge as a reporter. When contacted by the Boston Globe about her cameo in Stan Lee’s comic she’s reported to have responded:

Lopez said she wouldn’t be caught dead being a reporter, even in a comic strip. “You know what I think of reporters? Voyeurs!” said the Newton resident. “You’ve got to report on other people’s lives? Why don’t you live your own?”

If you read the segment, the character Maria Lopez doesn’t even look at all like the TV judge.
