Gary Larson tries to save a mountain
Gary Larson is back in the news as he joins a campaign to stop development on Turtleback Mountain in Washington state according to the Seattle Post. The campaign is a coalition of conservation groups who are trying to raise $18.5 million to buy 1,578-acres on the west side of Orcas Island. If successful the land will not be developed and become public land. Gary has created a cartoon depicting doctors operating on the island removing developers. The cartoon has been printed on t-shrirts that are given to those who contribute $150 or more to the cause. You can see the cartoon here.
So far $17 million has been raised.
E&P also has a write up on the effort.
