Ted Rall joins United Media; still syndicated through Universal Press

United Media has announced that Ted Rall has joined them and will help acquire and develop comics and text features.
From their press release:

“We are thrilled to have Ted’s expertise on United’s creative team,” Wilson said in a statement. “He is not only a talented cartoonist, but he is also an accomplished writer and editor with an eye for what can work in syndication. Ted has his ear to the ground and he knows where to look to find more edgy content that appeals to younger readers and addresses the needs of today.”

Editor and Publisher also has filed a story.

  1. didn’t they try this with Jake Morrissey a few years ago? what happened to him?

  2. Morrissey quit United Media around September 2004
    to become Executive Editor at Riverhead Books.
    Then around November 2005 Tom Daning, former Marvel
    Comics editor, was named Morrissey’s replacement.
    Photos from the AAEC convention in Denver show
    Daning and Rall mingling; wonder if that is when
    this deal was worked out?
