It’s not a matter of taking “offense”..The issue is, the NCS, as a matter of policy, cannot give the impression that it endorses or favors one commercial venture over another to it’s members. There may be members that have similiar businesses in direct competition with ones such as Dawn’s. A good example would be endorsing a syndicate over another when we have members from all syndicates.

We wish no ill will on Dawn’s business venture and understand that she meant no harm in soliciting the best cartoonists through their affiliation with the NCS. I personally wish her the best, but we must be neutral as an organization when it comes to situations like this.

You need not be a NCS member or a syndicated cartoonist to become a goGags contributor. However, for proven cartoonists, we will waive the $50 fee. We wanted to include NCS members in that definition, but if that offends Rick and the NCS, then so be it.

And to Anonymous…the cartoonist sets the price. It can be 25 cents or $2. Advertising revenue, which will begin in August, is extra.

The goGags website is being revamped, and we are launching our “My Fridj” product when it done, within a few weeks. This is a personalized comics gallery which can be posted on a user’s blog or MySpace page.

Anyone worried they can’t get 400 download certainly should not sign up.
