Officials at RIT are hoping fictional Doonesbury character picks them
“Doonesbury” character Alex has been deciding on which college to attend and has been accepted at Rochester Institute of Technology and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute - fictionally of course. The attention that RIT is getting has made RIT officials giddy.
R-I-T officials have been getting a kick out of the comic strip recognition. They say R-I-T would be a great choice for the fictional Alex, who holds five patents at age 18 and wants to be an engineer.
Somehow I get a kick out of the mental imagery of a bunch of suits waking up each morning in American Idol anticipation to see if their college is the one that doesn’t get voted out.
