Santa Cruz Sentinel picks up Get Fuzzy, Mutts
The Santa Cruz Sentinel has made a couple of additions to their funny pages. After a reader poll, they’ve picked up “Get Fuzzy” and “Mutts.”
Our popular comics page has some new faces as well. Some weeks ago, we ran a reader poll on what you wanted, and as a result, we’re adding two comic strips — “Get Fuzzy” and “Mutts.”
“Mutts” has become one of the most popular comic strips in the world, appearing in 700 newspapers in more than 20 countries. In it, cartoonist Patrick McDonnell presents animals from his own world, including main character Earl the dog.
“Get Fuzzy” has been around since 1999, and is in more than 400 newspapers. It’s drawn by Darby Conley, and features Bucky Katt, Satchel Pooch and their stressed-out guardian, Rob Wilco.
One strip is being removed — the popular “Boondocks” strip. Cartoonist Aaron McGruder has decided to take six months off to pursue other interests — and we’ll resume publishing his work when he returns.
