Ocala Star-Banner adds Sudoku and shifts comics around
Boondock is gone as is Alley Oop to make room for Sudoku. Read quote below for other changes.
You will also notice some changes to our comics page. Gone will be the Boondocks and Alley Oop strips. Aaron McGruder, the creator of Boondocks has opted to take a six-month hiatus. We decided not to run previously published Boondocks strips and will consider adding it back when new strips resume. Doonesbury and Mallard Fillmore will move to the comics page and Non Sequitur is moving to the puzzle page.
After interviews with several local groups, comprised of residents young and old, it was decided to discontinue the strip about caveman Alley Oop. It scored low in popularity among the groups queried.
