Jerry Dumas culled material from home
In a presentation to the women’s fellowship group at Second Congregational Church (Greenwich CT), Jerry Dumas explained that most of his material for his comic feature “Sam and Silo” were from working at home and being with the family.
Much of the best grist for Jerry Dumas’ comic strips has been culled from minute observations of life as a stay-at-home cartoonist, especially of the wit and wisdom of his three sons and wife.
Unlike most people, the Greenwich resident’s career allowed him to be at home as his children grew up, he told the women’s fellowship group at Second Congregational Church yesterday, which gave him plenty of opportunity to interact with his sons and wife Gail.
