Jim Morin is Journalist of the Year
Jim Morin, editorial cartoonist for the Miami Herald has been crowned “Journalist of the Year” by the South Florida International Press Club.
The South Florida International Press Club announced that it has selected Miami Herald editorial cartoonist Jim Morin as Journalist of the Year. He will be honored along with nine recipients of Community Recognition Awards at the organization’s annual Imprint luncheon to be held Saturday, April 29 at the Miami Shores Country Club.
Jim Morin’s drawings won the Pulitzer Prize for editorial cartooning in l996. He shared the Pulitzer in l983 with other members of the Miami Herald editorial board, and was a Pulitzer finalist in l977 and l990. He has also won numerous other awards and most recently won second place in the 2005 Global Millennium Cartoon Competition. Morin, who has been with the Herald since 1978, is the author of four books.
