Nick Anderson starts with Chronicle
Yesterday was Nick Anderson’s first cartoon with the Houston Chronicle. The Chronicle wrote up a little welcome message to introduce him to their readers on the editorial page:
Anderson was recognized as the best political cartoonist in the country by the 2005 Pulitzer Prize committee. The judges noted his idiosyncratic drawing style that “produced an extraordinarily thoughtful and powerful message.”
Fiercely independent, Anderson reserves that right to skewer deserving politicians and other public figures no matter what their party or ideology. Jeff Cohen, the Chronicle’s executive vice president and editor, said, “No one draws conclusions better than Nick Anderson. We are pleased to introduce him to the Chronicle’s readers.”
