Baldo creators to speak at comic symposium
Yesterday I posted a story about Lee Salem speaking at a comic symposium. Also attending that same symposium will be Hector Cantu and Carlos Castellanos, creators of Baldo.
Hector Cantu and Carlos Castellanos, creators of Baldo (the most syndicated Latino comic strip in the country–over 200 newspapers). Strong literacy advocates (they wrote/illustrated a cartoon strip to create awareness about National Literacy Day). The Baldo team will speak on the challenges facing educators, literacy advocates, and students in promoting and acquiring literacy and about their experiences developing and creating Baldo.
