Cartoonists not drawn to Tory leader
Via The Comics Reporter comes a link to a story about how editorial cartoonists in Canada are reacting to having to draw a new set of politicians that come with a new election cycle.
Brian Mulroney had “The Chin.” Jean Chretien’s mouth — and what came out of it — made him great fodder. They were a dream for editorial cartoonists.
Stephen Harper just doesn’t have it.
“It’s a nightmare,” the Toronto Sun’s legendary cartoonist Andy Donato said of the prospect of Prime Minister Stephen Harper. “He’s too hard to draw. He’s got a pretty prominent nose, but when you get the nose down the rest doesn’t fit in.”
