Future sketchy for editorial cartoonists
On the Editorial Cartoonist web site, they’re reposting a story that ran in the “The Business Journal of Phoenix” regarding the plight of the editorial cartoonist. Not much new, but it does talk abit about Steve Benson (AZ Republic), Brian Fairrington (Cagle Cartoons - living in the Phoenix area).
Those who have made editorial cartooning their career share an increasing concern about the future of the profession. Cartoonists make a picture convey 1,000 words. They bring editorial pages to life, infusing crafty images and messages onto a piece of paper that otherwise would be row upon row of black ink.
