Des Moines Register gets “Get Fuzzy”
I missed this write up about Darby Conley’s Get Fuzzy in the Des Moines Regsiter. If your a fan of his work, this is a good read.
It takes an hour each time Conley draws Bucky Katt. Simply drawing one week’s worth of panels takes about 40 hours; that doesn’t include thinking up ideas and writing in the text bubbles.
Conley takes pride in how each panel is a piece of art; he never uses Photoshop and never copies his panels. But that means sometimes he’ll waste hours trying to remember how to draw these characters he’s drawn thousands of times before.
