Fee Waived for Herblock Prize as Editorial Cartoonists Struggle
E&P is reporting that the Herb Block Foundation is waiving the $50 entry fee for the $10k Herblock Prize for editorial cartooning. The waiver is a token of support to the editorial cartooning community.
“It’s a small gesture, but it’s something we thought we ought to do,” HBF President Frank Swoboda told E&P Monday. “It’s a time of siege for editorial cartoonists.”
The deadline for entering this year’s Herblock Prize competition is Feb. 1, 2006.
