‘Peanuts’ Christmas Special makes for pricey commercials
A Charlie Brown Christmas aired last night the 40th time and according to E&P - the price for a 30 second commercial was $200k.
NEW YORK As the 40-year-old “A Charlie Brown Christmas” airs once again Tuesday night, the “Peanuts” property continues to earn many millions for the estate of the late Charles Schulz.
ABC-TV is charging advertisers as much as $200,000 per 30 seconds to run commercials with the animated special, according to a Tuesday Los Angeles Times article, which added that some advertisers had to be turned away.
